WHAT I MAKE ARE FUNCTIONAL WORKS OF ART.
TECHNIQUE
Working intuitively, trying not to think but to feel, starting with colours and often pattern, like painting with threads and material. Each piece is a process, it develops and emerges, some elements are appliqued, some are cut away. All are quilted. The individual technique that has evolved over the years is based on the needlework technique Reverse appliqué. What is born is abstract, random, contemporary, raw, with a tangible energy. The fascination comes from the development of the process as the spark of an idea takes off and allows freedom and creativity to come through.
